<p>PURPOSE:To uniformalize flow distribution on an impeller inlet cross suction so as to improve efficiency of a pump by providing an expansion part in the vicinity of the downstream side of a bulkhead, in a device in which the bulkhead for dividing flow which approaches to a pump suction port into two branches is provided at the middle part of the width of the water passage to an intake water tank. CONSTITUTION:An intake water tank 1 for leading intake flow into a pump suction part is constituted as an enclosed type in which water is filled to the ceiling of the water tank 1, and a longitudinal shaft pump 2 is connected to the pump suction part through a suction bellmouth 3. On the uppersteam side from the pump 2 of the intake water tank 1, a bulkhead 8 is provided in the center of the width of the water passage in the suction water tank 1 so as to device flow which approaches to the suction bellmouth 3 into two branches. In this case, an expansion part 8b is provided on the bulkhead 8 so as to thicken the thickness T' in the vicinity of the downstream end of the bulkhead 8 more than the thickness T of the bulkhead provided upstream from the downstream end of the bulkhead 8. Flow which approaches the pump is forced to flow slantly toward water tank side walls 1a, 1a', and flow which flows around the outside of the suction bellmouth 3 is accelerated, so that it is possible to improve suction performance of the pump.</p> |
