It is an object of this invention to improve the correction working precision such as for crowning in forming and grinding a helical gear by use of a grinding wheel. When an angle of torsion of a helical gear to be ground is set at beta and a setting angle is set at gamma c, gamma c < beta is adopted, and the grinding wheel is profile-designed, using said setting angle ( gamma c) as the profile of the grinding wheel.
