The subject of the present invention is a rear live axle for a hybrid vehicle including electric means for driving the wheels. According to the invention the axle includes a horizontal plate (1) which is connected to the body of the vehicle by elastic means (2a, 2b, 3a and 3b) and on which are fixed two electric motors (4a and 4b) each capable of driving one of the wheels and having their axes (5a and 5b) inclined with respect to the axis (6) of the wheels and substantially in the same horizontal plane at nominal load. <IMAGE>
