Described is a depilatory device for removing hair from the human body, the device having a housing which can be held in the user's hand, a motor-driven rotating cylinder fitted with pincer elements, and at least one actuator element which passes through the rotating cylinder and is designed to actuate the pincer elements coupled to it. The actuator element is driven via a cam disc by a rotatably mounted pressure-exerting element associated with it, and is displaced against the pressure of a spring, the cam disc being designed as a control element with a control cam which makes contact with the pressure-exerting element.
