PURPOSE:To minimize the optical deterioration of a lens, reduce the thickness and weight of lens, simplify the form, and reduce the cost by disposing a glass plate not transmitting ultraviolet rays but transmitting visual rays between a light source and a front lens in an automotive head lamp having the resin front lens. CONSTITUTION:A resin front lens to be used has the characteristics of not transmitting UV rays but transmitting visual rays. Namely, the ray transmittance in a wavelength less than 400nm is desirably less than 5%, and the transmittance in at least a wavelength less than 300nm is less than 5%. The transmittance in a wavelength from 420 to 800nm is 70% or more. As a specific structure, a glass 4 not transmitting UV ray but transmitting visual rays is set between a light source 1 consisting of a halogen lamp or metal halide lamp and a resin front lens 3 provided on the front of a reflecting plate 2. |
