<p>PURPOSE:To enlarge storage capacity for recording a operation command code controlling the operation of a recording and reproducing device itself and to enable rewriting the operation command code at a user side. CONSTITUTION:The operation command code is recorded in an index area of the recording and reproducing device in which the index area is stipulated at a track formed on a magnetic tape 1 by a key board 24 and an index data recording circuit 25. The receded operation command code is read by an index data reproducing circuit 33 and an operation command code read circuit 41. A MPU 11 and a system controller 12 control the operation of the recording and reproducing device itself based on the read-out operation command code. A large amount of the operation command code can be recorded since the recording capacity in the index area is large. And data can be rewritten in the index area then the operation command code data recorded once can be rewritten.</p> |
