The paintbox holder works with bosses on the sides of the exchangeable paint wells to hold these in the box. Cam or rib type holders (5-8) fitted to the paintbox side or base (3, 4) are spaced from the common centre axis of the paint wells (15, 16) so that their contact surfaces (9) face away from this axis and bear on the well bosses (20, 23). The holders and/or supports (10, 11) fitted between these have contact surfaces (9) which face the common centre axis of the wells and bear on one sidewall of the respective well.
