Draughtsman rule has arrestable fixer for the board guides as well as underside guide strips to work with clamp in a board groove during rule movement, using a grip bar to operate the clamp. The clamp (3) should have an axially curved, flexibly deforming strip (14) which fits into the groove (2) on assembly so the strip curves face the groove sides. Pivot arms (15) both ends of the strip rotate in a plane above the rule (6) and so bear on a control bar (27) forming part of the grip strip (23) that the curved of the strip (14) changes in response to any movement of the grip strip (23). USE/ADVANTAGE - Drawing offices etc. Easy riding rule arrester and clamping system makes for progressive clamping action avoiding damage.
