Light metal wheel for a passenger vehicle has a Mg alloy wheel disc and an Al alloy tyre rim. The disc is forged, cleaned by shot blasting with ceramic shot before further cleaning with alkali media and black chromating. The wheel parts are pref. joined with Ti rivets. ADVANTAGE - Wheel wt. is reduced.
