A heatable stamping roller includes a hollow drum member with an internal heating system and a drum mantle with a stamping profile and at least one segment while is interchangeable and located on the drum mantle. The drum mantle is covered with a number of segments which are interchangeable and which have a stamping profile. The segments have guide elements, and the drum mantle is covered over its whole circumference. The material for teh substrate is pref. an elastomer or rubber. ADVANTAGE - The roller is simple and the stamping surface can be changed without having to dismantle the heatable roller section.
