PURPOSE:To delete a character string without breaking the column layout of a documented document in a document editor. CONSTITUTION:When an instruction to delete the character string is given by a command analyzing means 3, a character string deleting means 5 deletes the character string of a present line, and when, as the result, the length of the line becomes insufficient, adjustment is executed by moving up the character string of shortage from the line starting digit position of the next line (position where character other than void exists as counting from head) to the present line, and as for the next line, moving the remaining character string to a line starting position. The processing of moving-up/adjusting is repeated until the shortage of the line eliminated, and a document buffer B is updated. |
