A multi-plate piezoelectric translator of horizontal shifts for inducing small mechanical shifts with the use of a strain perpendicular to the produced electric field characterised in that the piezoelectric plates (1,2,3,4,5,...,n) with the bias directed in one direction, placed one above the other, are fixed together in a mechanical manner alternately with their left and right ends, and electrodes (6) between the adjacent plates are common and alternately connected with terminals "+" and "-" of the current generator.<IMAGE>
