PURPOSE:To provide a winding device which is able to continue a winding operation without any trouble even if a work is not introduced into a spindle. CONSTITUTION:A winding device is composed of a spindle 1 where a work 11 is mounted or dismounted, a tentatively fixing mechanism 3 which tentatively fixes a wire 10 to the work 11, a wire cutting mechanism 4, a wire holding mechanism 5, and a sensor 6 which detects that the wire 11 is on tone spindle 1 or not. When the wire 10 is set at a tentatively fixing position by the holding mechanism 5 and that the work 11 is not on the spindle 1 is detected by the sensor 6, a tentatively fixing mechanism 3 and a cutting mechanism 4 are made to stop operating, and the holding mechanism 5 moves the wire 10 upward to a waiting position. |
