The following are claimed: (a) a medicament comprising a compsn. of at least one chemotherapeutic agent (I) and at least one physiologically acceptable Li salt; (b) the use of at least one (I) and a physiologically acceptable lithium salt for parallel, separate or deferred admin. in the chemotherapeutic treatment of bacterial, viral, parasitic and fungal infections; and (c) the combined use of (I) and Li salt in the prodn. of a medicament for the treatment of such infections. Pref. (I) is at lower dose than during its separate admin. and the lithium salt is either the chloride or carbonate. USE/ADVANTAGE - The medicament is used for the treatment of bacterial or vral infections (e.g, HSV and HIV), Malaria, Leishmania, Bilharzia, trypanosomal infection and Candida albicans.
