A continuous kneading device, esp for sour-dough, has a stator with kneading elements cooperating with the kneading elements of a driven rotor, the novelty being that the mounting of the rotor is located outside the kneading chamber. ADVANTAGE - The rotor seals and bearing are protected against the aggressive material being kneaded so that they have extended series life, downtime for expensive repairs is avoided and contamination of the material by wear particles is avoided.
