The turning mechanism in a writing implement, is for moving a writing element, between a retracted rest position, and an advanced writing position. It has a slide and a cam section. The slide is removably, but non-movably connected to the writing element. It carries a control cam, retained by a spring in a control curve. The curve has locking positions, corresponding to the two positions. A pretensioned pressure spring (22) is located between slide (12) and cam section (14). The slide has a return cam (34). When the writing element is removed from the pressure mechanism, the return cam is pressed by the spring on a return cam (32), carried by the cam section. This permits turning of the cam from a position corresponding to the writing position, into a position, which corresponds to the rest position. ADVANTAGE - Is suitable for mounting of ballpoint refills and pencil pressure mechanisms.
