摘要 PURPOSE:To raise recording density by adding at least one element of manganese, copper and vanadium as third element in a vertical magnetic recording medium Co-Cr system. CONSTITUTION:Manganese, copper and vanadium of at most 10wt% are added to Co-Cr. If manganese, copper and vanadium of over 10wt% are added, crystallization of a film declines remarkably and vertical magnetic anisotropy drops quickly. An embodiment of this invention, in which Co85Zr15 amorphous soft magnetic film 9 of 0.3mum thickness and (Co84Cr16)96Cu4 vertical magnetized film 11 of 0.6mum thickness are formed on both surfaces of Mylar 8 of 50mum, has excellent recording density characteristic and enables extra-high density magnetic recording of 100KERPI and more.
