PURPOSE:To obtain the subject new compound which is an acidic fat-soluble substance of a metabolite of Penicillium restrictum, having a specific molecular formula and molecular weight, further anti-angiotensin II action and low toxicity and useful for preventing and treating, etc., hypertension. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism [e.g. Penicillium restrictum FL-8950 strain (FERM BP-3301)], belonging to the genus Penicillium and having the ability to produce compounds TAN-1446A, B and/or C is cultured in a culture medium to produce and accumulate products in the resultant culture. The obtained products are collected to afford TAN-1446 which is a yellow solid and acidic fat-soluble substance having the molecular formula C17H22O5, and 306 molecular weight, TAN-1446B which is a colorless solid and acidic fat-soluble substance having the molecular formula C31H44O9 and 560 molecular weight and TAN-1446C which is a light brown solid and acidic fat-soluble substance having the molecular formula C17H24O5 and 308 molecular weight. |
