A so-called semiautomatic checkout intended for limited manual operation is provided with a barcode reader 4, an automatic weighing scale with associated conveyor belt 5 and a conveyor belt for onward transport of goods to a collecting bin. All goods handling is taken care of by the customer, the barcode being registered for each goods item and compared with information obtained from the weighing.
