PURPOSE:To provide a ceramics material suitable for a ceramics substrate especially for a thin film magnetic head having chipping resistance, processing properties of planishing and density. CONSTITUTION:Mixed raw material powder consisting of 100 pts.wt. mixed powder comprising 60-80wt.% Al2O3 and 20-40wt.% TiC, 0.5-3.0 pts.wt. Si, 0.5-3.0 pts.wt. sintering promoter and 0.5-3.0 pts.wt. imparter of fine cutting is burnt to give a ceramics material having <=1.0mum average crystal particle diameter of Al2O3 particles and <=1.0mum average crystal particle diameter of TiC particles in the sintered material. A ceramics substrate for a thin film magnetic head comprising the ceramics material. |
