PURPOSE:To form an inorganic coating film having black or white color, glossy surface and electrical insulation and resistant to corrosion, chemicals, heat and abrasion without using a colored pigment. CONSTITUTION:An inorganic coating composition composed of a mixture of two or more components selected from gamma-glycidoxypropyl trialkoxysilane, dimethyldialkoxysilane and methyltrialkoxy silane and containing phosphoric acid as the hydrolytic polycondensation catalyst for the silane compound is applied to a heat-resistant substrate, dried and successively heat-treated at <=400 deg.C and then at 600-1500 deg.C to obtain a black coating film. The film can be converted to a white coating film by the further heat-treatment at >=1500 deg.C. |
