PURPOSE:To obtain a linear favorable graduation property always regardless of the temperature fluctuation of the heads when dot recording is performed using two types of heads such as a high density head and a low density head, and/or obtain a natural gradation property by a simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:This device has, e.g. a high density head 13a which discharges a thick ink drops and a low density head 13b which discharges thin ink drops, and has a high density/low density allotting table 11 which allots input image signals 10 to both heads. A CPU 18 outputs gradation correcting signals to scale correcting tables 20a, 20b in response to temperature signals from thermistors 14a, 14b which individually detect the temperatures of both heads. The gradation correcting tables 20a, 20b gradation-correct the signals from above mentioned table 11 based on the correcting signals in response to the head temperature, and feed them to the heads 13a, 13b. |
