<p>PURPOSE:To enable the position recognizing device to be used for various display systems. CONSTITUTION:This device is composed of a first light source unit 16 equipped with a transparent light guide panel 12 whose one face is subjected to a light diffusion processing and plural infrared light sources 18 arranged on one side of the light guide panel 12 and linearly arranged, second light source unit 17 arranged in counter to the first light source unit 16 on the opposite side of the light guide panel 12 and equipped with plural infrared light sources 19 linearly arranged, driving means to successively drive the respective infrared light sources of the first and second light source units 16 and 17, photodetecting means 13 to detect beams made incident from the first and second light source units 16 and 17 to the light guide panel 12 and emitted from the surface of the light guide panel 12, and calculating means to calculate the position of the photodetecting means 13 on the light guide panel 12 from the outputs of the driving means and the photodetecting means 13.</p> |
