There is disclosed a supported surface comprising a rigid sheet and a plurality of supporting devices mounted below the sheet to provide support therefor at multiple locations on the underside of the sheet, characterised in that each device comprises spaced apart contact elements for supporting contact with the said underside of the sheet and a balancing link between the contact elements operable to balance the supporting action of the elements by adjusting displacement thereof relative to each other. |
