<p>A disc brake caliper composed of a bridge (1) and at least one separately formed friction pad assembly (7) which is attached to an inner (3) or an outer (4) portion of the bridge (1). Each of the two bridge portions (3, 4) has a surface (5, 6) arranged in opposed relationship to the corresponding surface of the other portion, and at least one of those surfaces (6) has a draft angle (Y) to facilitate removal of the bridge (1) from a die or mould. The separately formed friction pad assembly (7) has an abutment surface (8, 9) which is located against the draft angle surface (5, 6), and the abutment surface (8, 9) has an angular disposition corresponding to that of the draft angle surface (5, 6). The draft angle surface (5, 6) is not machined or ground, but is left in the as-cast or as-forged condition.</p> |
