The releasable connector between machine parts consists of a rotary journal with thread and nut and end fitted bolt to engage a socket in the part connected to the machine. The bolt head consists of a shoulder which is wider one way and narrower in a second direction at right angles to this so as to lock into an undercut part in the bolt socket in the appropriate journal position. An adjuster bolt on the machine is cross-toothed to form a rack engaged by a gear on the journal. The nut thread (11) for the threaded part of the journal (10, 4) should be on an axially locked clamping ring (19) which can rotate relative to the journal and is toothed (20) outside to form a gear thus meshing with the rack formed by the cross toothing on the clamping bolt (22) fitted to the machine. USE/ADVANTAGE - Machine tools, e.g. coupling milling/boring heads to machine spindles etc. Clamping ring and gear teeth increase connection surface to machine racked clamping bolt on machine with bolt action for clamping and release.
