Safety switch for munition shell - holds switch spring-biased contacts apart until shell is fired

The safety switch allows the electrical energy to be supplied to the shell components only after the shell is fired, using a pair of contacts (24,25) spring biased into contact with one another. An insulating element (12) is axially biased in the shell firing direction for holding the two contacts (24,25) apart until the shell is fired. A ball (21) acted on by a bolt (5) subjected to a second spring bias, blocks the movement of the insulating element (12), until the bolt (5) is displaced by the acceleration forces upon the shell being fired. USE - For ensuring safety of shell during transport and handling.
