Surface absorber for electromagnetic HF radiation - has induction loop grid deposited directly on resistance layer, facing impinging waves

The absorber is fitted in front of a wall screen and contans a flat surface resistance layer of constant height, whose material wave resistance is 377 ohm per unit area. An induction loop grid (4) is arranged directly on the resistance layer (3), facing the direction of the impinging waves. The induction loop grid has the same material wave resistance as the resistance layer, with the grid loops arranged vertically w.r.t. the resistance layer. Pref. the latter and the induction loop grid are of metal, with the grid formed by horizontal (5) and vertical grid walls (6). The loops are formed by holes (7) in the grid walls. USE/ADVANTAGE - For protecting metal walls against short electromagnetic waves, with reflection damping also in the range of low frequencies, such as 1MHz.
