PURPOSE:To provide a method inhibiting information from an information storage medium from being read for a person who is not a regular user and protecting the information, and an information reproduction device whose handleability is excellent. CONSTITUTION:In an information reproduction device, a means inputting passwords from outside, a means reading identification numbers and passwords recorded in a medium and a means comparing the passwords and permitting or not permitting the reading are provided. A nonvolatile memory capable of storing the identification number of a medium which was applied to the device in the past and was permitted for the reading is provided. Thus, for a regular user who knows the password of the medium, the reading of the information can be permitted. For the regular user, an information reproduction device whose handleability is excellent without inputting the passwords again every time the medium is applied to the reproduction device can be provided. |
