PURPOSE:To realize the optical writer for the image forming device of small size with simple configuration by devising the writer in such a way that it is installed to an optional position apart from a light source and its image forming optical system is simplified. CONSTITUTION:In the optical write head having wiring structure in which a drive voltage is applied to a fluorescent body 3 arranged in the unit of picture elements via a photoconductor 6, an original 8 is irradiated with the light from the original illumination light source 9 through a light waveguide 10. The drive voltage is selectively applied based on the image of the original 8 to the fluorescent body 3, by irradiating the photoconductor 6 with the refraction light from the original 8 through a refractive index distribution self converging lens 7.
