PURPOSE:To provide an appropriate charging display for a user even when the ambient temperature is high by a constitution wherein a display means displays completion of charging operation when a temperature sensor detects battery temperature lower than a predetermined value N times. CONSTITUTION:When the ambient temperature is 40 deg.C, battery temperature B reaches a first predetermined value D1 before the peak of battery voltage A is suppressed and thereby charging of battery is halted. When the battery temperature lowers and the battery temperature B subsequently reaches a second predetermined value D2, charging operation resumes. When charging operation proceeds, peak of battery voltage is suppressed and the charging operation finishes. The charging time is represented by E, and a display means displays 'under charging' during an interval F while displays 'completion of charging' during an interval G. Consequently, when the ambient temperature is 40 deg.C, a temperature sensor 4 functions once to finish charging operation. When the battery temperature detected through the temperature sensor once exceeds the first predetermined value, the display means displays 'completion of charging' of battery.
