PURPOSE:To appropriately detect even a finer edge by outputting alternately edge quantum detecting signals at the time when a notice picture element is a sample point and at the time when the picture element is a non-sample point between each line and also detecting an edge quantum by utilizing a picture element being adjacent to the notice picture element on a real picture. CONSTITUTION:In an N-th line, changeover switches 7 - 9 are switched alternately to an L side and an H side at every period of 1/32.4MHz, changeover switches 10, 12 and a changeover switch 11 remain connected to the H side and the L side, respectively, and in an (N+1)-th line, the changeover switches 7, 9 and the changeover switch 8 remain connected to the H side and the L side, respectively, and the changeover switches 10 - 12 are switched alternately to the L side and the H side at every period of 1/32.4MHz. Accordingly, edge quantum detecting signals at the time when a notice picture element is a sample point and at the time when the picture element is a non-sample point in each line are outputted alternately, and the edge quantum detecting signal is derived from an absolute value of an interpicture element difference signal to a picture element being adjacent to the notice picture element on a real picture. In such a way, even a fine edge is detected appropriately. |
