PURPOSE:To suppress formation of a secondary amine as a by-product and obtain the subject compound in high yield by specifying the feed rate of a raw material N,N-dialkylaminoacetonitrile and using a Raney nickel as a catalyst in catalytically hydrogenating the aforementioned raw material. CONSTITUTION:An N,N-dialkylaminoacetonitrile expressed by formula I (R1 and R2 are methyl or ethyl) is fed to a reactor at 0.5-3g/hr/g-catalyst feed rate and catalytically hydrogenated in the presence of a catalyst composed of Raney cobalt or Raney nickel to afford the objective compound expressed by formula II. Furthermore, the reaction temperature is preferably 70-90 deg.C and the reaction pressure of hydrogen us preferably 80-120kg/cm<2>.G. |
