<p>PURPOSE:To provide a tape recorder by which the travel of a tape can be confirmed even when a control signal is absent in the tape. CONSTITUTION:A control signal detected by a control signal reproducing head 11 is counted by a linear counter calculating part 12, and a linear count value is displayed at a display part 17, while signals from a supplying reel sensor 14 and a winding reel sensor 15 are inputted, and a tape residual time or the like is calculated by a tape residual time calculating part 16. When the tape is traveling, and the tape reaches an unrecorded part, the change of a linear counter is stopped. However, information indicating the absence of a control is transmitted from a control signal detecting part 13 to a control part 18, so that the travel of the tape even at the unrecorded part can be confirmed by the display of the tape residual time or the like by automatically switching the display content of the display part 17 from the linear count value to the tape residual time or the like.</p> |
