In a boring/cutting device comprising a cutting tool such as a core drill (4) having cutting tips (18) of ultra-hard material, and a coolant supply means (10) for cooling a cutting portion at which a workpiece is cut by the cutting tool, an abrasive supply means (12) is provided for supplying abrasive to the cutting portion together with coolant to effect dressing of the cutting tips of the cutting tool. By the dressing effect brought about by the abrasive on the cutting tips, the cutting efficiency is increased and the service life of the cutting tool can be remarkably lengthened. <IMAGE>
