<p>A cocaine esterase has been isolated from a strain of the bacteria Pseudomonas maltophilia. The cocaine esterase catalyses the debenzoylation of cocaine. This reaction may be used in the detection of cocaine. The enzyme may be incorporated into sensors for this purpose.</p> |
