In a directional control valve, in particular a proportional valve for a pneumatic medium, having a valve housing (1) provided with media terminals (7 to 9) for operating-, pressure-, and ventilating lines, a pair of pivotally supported, lever-like seal carriers (16) are resiliently urged against an electrically controlled operating member (2), and, in a predeterminable lever length ratio, bear respective sealing elements (20) which co-operate with respective seats (22). The operating member (2) may be moved within a bore in the housing (1) by the armature (4) of an electromagnet (3) to effect actuation of one or other of the two seal carriers, the free ends of which bear against a central part (12) of the operating member (2). In a modification, the operating member (2) comprises a rotatable cam (Fig. 3, not shown).
