The container described protects a sterile capsule containing a previously metered, multi-component, curable material, for example bone cement, against microorganisms and impurities. It is capable oftransmitting pressure exerted from the outside to the capsule. At the same time, the material components contained in the capsule come into contact with one another and can be mixed by shaking in an oscillating mixer. Even if the mixer is not operated in a sterile room, the capsule remains free of microorganisms, a fact which is important for use, for example in operating theatres. In order to transmit the external pressure necessary for activation of the capsule, the container comprises two shell halves 1 and 2 which can be pushed together on application of external pressure forces. Advantageously, the capsule is protected on opening by a ring 3 or by a screen against contact with non-sterile surfaces of the container. <IMAGE> |
