PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound useful for raw material for medicine and agricultural chemical, etc., in high yield using an inexpensive raw material by carrying out a reaction while feeding a specific N, N-di-substituted aminoacetonitrile to the reaction system in the presence of a Raney-cobalt catalyst. CONSTITUTION:When a N,N-di-substituted ethylenediamine (e.g. N,N- diisopropylaminoacetonitrile) expressed by formula II is produced by subjecting N,N-di-substituted aminoacetonitrile (e.g. N,N-diisopropylaminoacetonitrile) expressed by formula I [R1 and R2 are 1-8C hydrocarbons (except an unsaturated chain hydrocarbon and unsaturated alicyclic hydrocarbon)] to catalytic hydrogenation, the above-mentioned aminoacetonitrile is subjected to above-mentioned reaction while continuously or intermittently feeding N,N-di-substituted aminoacetonitrile to the reaction system to provide the objective N,N-di- substituted ethylenediamine expressed by formula II. |
