<p>PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency when a color ink ribbon is used in a recording device wherein ink of the ink ribbon is transferred on a recording paper and a plurality of lines are recorded at the same time. CONSTITUTION:At printing, a determining means 101 determines whether a mounted ink ribbon 105 is colored or monochromatic. In accordance with the result, a controller 100 controls a width to be recorded at a time by a head 104. When it is a colored ribbon, only a width corresponding to one line is used for recording. When it is a monochromic ribbon, a plurality of lines are printed at a time by using a recordable maximum width, so as to improve both use efficiency of the ink ribbon and speed in recording process.</p> |
