TITANIUM-CONTAINING ALUMINOSILICATE ZEOLITE HAVING MORDENITE STRUCTURE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To provide new zeolite in which titanium is highly dispersed in mordenite crystals and effective utilization of the zeolite as, e.g. a catalyst for hydroxylating hydrocarbons. CONSTITUTION:A titanium-containing aluminosilicate zeolite having a mordenite structure characterized in that (a) The aforementioned aluminosilicate zeolite is expressed by the formula (0.3-1.2)M2/nO:(10-42)SiO2:Al2O3:(0.01-2.0)TiO2 [M is one or more mono-or bifunctional cations; n denotes the valance]; (b) it exhibits an X-ray diffraction pattern of the mordenite structure and (c) absorption near 960cm<-1> is shown in an infrared absorption spectrum. Furthermore, a method for producing the above-mentioned aluminosilicate is provided.
