<p>PURPOSE:To improve fuel consumption during idling of engine by setting turn ratio of an ignition coil, a primary, inductance, a primary current of a power switching module, secondary energy and duration of secondary energy at within a specified range, respectively. CONSTITUTION:An ignition coil 1 and a power switching module for conducting and interrupting a primary current of the ignition coil 1 are provided. In such an ignition device for an internal combustion engine, turn ratio of a secondary winding 3 to a primary winding 2 of the ignition coil 1 is made 106 to 113, primary inductance is made 2.7mH to 3.0mH, and a primary current of a power switching module is made 7A to 8A. Secondary energy which is output energy of an ignition plug 7 is made 50mJ or more and duration of secondary energy is set at 2.0msec or more. For example, a driver 8 is controlled by a control unit 9.</p> |
