A method of treating liquid waste from washing of boilers or boiler equipment, containing dissolved compounds of metallic elements, particularly iron (II), iron (III), nickel (II), cobalt, zinc, aluminium, vanadium and magnesium sulphates, characterised in that after precipitation of impurities from the waste, the process is carried out in two subsequent dosing stages: in the first stage, calcium carbonate and/or calcium-magnesium carbonate are dosed with simultaneous intensive aeration of the waste, and in the second stage calcium hydroxide is dosed.
