<p>PURPOSE:To improve the operation efficiency of icon selection by displaying an icon which is high in selection frequency to a larger size and an icon which is low to a smaller size. CONSTITUTION:A menu generation part 21 displays all icons to the same size at the time of an initial icon menu display. When one icon is selected by the operation of a pointing device 2, the utilization history of the program corresponding to the icon is recorded in a utilization history file 23, which is thus updated. The utilization frequencies of respective transaction programs are calculated by using the utilization history file 23 and proper display sizes corresponding to the utilization frequencies assigned to the icons corresponding to the transaction programs. The display sizes are so assigned that the sizes of the icons are larger and larger as the utilization frequencies (selection frequency) of the corresponding transaction programs are higher and higher, and smaller and smaller as the frequencies are lower and lower.</p> |
