The invention concerns a austenitic cast steel, ship stainless cast steel in particular, comprising by weight: carbon from 0.02 to 0.07 percent, manganese from 1.5 to 3.0 percent, silicon from 0.25 to .08 percent, phosphorus max. 0.035 percent, sulphur max. 0.030 percent, chromium from 17 to 24 percent, nickel from 19 to 22 percent, molybdenum from 2.5 to 7 percent, copper from 0.03 to 1.5 percent, the rest being iron and inevitable impurities, characterised in that it comprises by weight: nitrogen from 0.05 to 0.4 percent, niobium from 0.05 to 1.5 percent, vanadium from 0.05 to 0.5 percent, titanium from 0.03 to 0.35 percent, boron from 0.003 to 0.01 percent, and also at also from 0.005 up to 0.12 percent of at least one or sum of elements from the group comprising calcium, zirconium, cerium, yttrium and magnesium.
