SUBSCRIBER MOUNT LOCATION RECOGNITION SYSTEM FOR RING LAN

PURPOSE:To allow the user to use a subscriber terminal equipment by only connecting the subscriber terminal equipment to a terminal station of a ring LAN. CONSTITUTION:A subscriber terminal equipment T2 informs terminal address information specific to the terminal equipment T2 when it is connected to a terminal station equipment TDS2. Upon the receipt of the notice, the terminal station equipment TDS2 sets the occurrence of a status change to a relevant area of its own station TDS2 in a subscriber state inquiry signal NF comprising areas corresponding to each terminal station and circulated periodically through an optical fiber transmission line by a central equipment CS. The central equipment CS detects a status change in the terminal station from the subscriber inquiry signal to read terminal address information and the subscriber state of the said terminal station. Thus, the central equipment recognizes the newest terminal address and mount location by allowing the terminal station equipment to set the terminal address information of the connected terminal equipment to the relevant terminal station area of the subscriber state inquiry signal circulated periodically through the transmission line as the subscriber status transition information and informing the result to the central equipment.
