The invention relates to a safety jacket for limiting the movements A and/or B of the body of a child E in a land vehicle, especially in the event of a sharp change of movement, of the type comprising a pelvic belt 110 suspended by braces 120a, 120b. In this jacket, the braces consist: - in the front part of the said jacket 100, of two bands 120a and 120b joined to the said pelvic belt 110 and passing over the shoulders of the child E, - and, in the back part, of a single band 120c connected at the top, at the neck level, to the first two bands 120a and 120b and at the bottom to the pelvic belt 110, so that the two front bands 120a and 120b join in the back part to form the back band 120c so as to form the general shape of a capital Y. Advantageously, the back band 120c of the Y is used for passing, through the oblique sash 200a and/or the horizontal sash 200b, the safety belt 200 which has three points of anchoring to the motor vehicle.
