1. A method of producing mineral wool from mineral raw materials or solid waste from the production of mineral wool in an electric arc-resistance furnace, characterized in that to the bottom of the electric arc-resistance furnace with intensively cooled furnace lining, ferrous scrap is introduced with the first batch of the mineral raw materials with a humidity of up to 1 percent, the electric arc is lit off on that ferrous scrap and the charge is melted between the graphite electrodes until the creation of a liquid surface of molten mineral raw materials, and further, the furnace is fed with another batch of mineral raw materials or their mixture with solid waste from the production of mineral wool in a continuous manner so that the surface of the liquid is always completely covered with a fresh layer of them and continues to be melted by an arc between graphite electrodes at a temperature exceeding 1400 degrees C with a constantly rising level of the mixture in the furnace until the nominal level of melted raw materials in the furnace is reached, and further the melted material obtained is separated by gravity into mineral material, which flows out through the discharge outlet and is directed through a system of runners to the device producing mineral wool; and into liquid iron, which is collected in the lowest point of the furnace and periodically discharged through a hole in the bottom of the furnace to the casting ladle.<IMAGE>
