The rhomboid shape body (12) with high specific electric resistance has a metallic coating (2') 0.05 millimetres thick and is connected galvanically between two coils (4,5) of wire in an insulating tube (1). The body is axially displaceable along the tube whose ends are sealed by caps (6,7). The porous chlorine body is loaded with 2 vol. percent of Cr22-V78 alloy particles which form, with the coating a bimetallic system. The device is connected to the lines (8,9) of a switching installation via spiral guide elements (4,5) along the insulating tube. USE/ADVANTAGE - For increased electrical switchgear safety. Compact device introduces long delay without recourse relays.
