<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the floor area of a deodorizing tower by a method wherein peat beds each having a cross-sectional area smaller than that of the deodorizing tower and hermetically closed in the side surface thereof are provided in the deodorizing tower over many stages at a proper interval in the longitudinal direction of the tower and malodorous gas is supplied to the peat beds of the respective stages in parallel to be guided to the outside of the deodorizing tower through the space surrounding the peat beds within the deodorizing tower. CONSTITUTION:In a deodorizing tower 1 having a cross-sectional area A, peat beds 2 each having a cross-sectional area B smaller than the cross-sectional area A and hermetically closed in the side surface thereof are provided over many stages at a proper interval in the longitudinal direction of the deodorizing tower l. Malodorous gas is supplied to the peat beds 2 of the respective stages in parallel and the outflow gas from the peat beds 2 is guided to the outside of the deodorizing tower 1 through the space surrounding the peat beds 2 within the deodorizing tower 1. As a result, when malodorous gas is passed through the deodorizing tower 1 consisting of the peat beds 2 having deodorizing bacteria supported thereon to be deodorized, the floor area of the deodorizing tower can be reduced without increasing the pressure loss in the deodorizing tower.</p> |
